Community building

PSE Consultancy provides support to community organisations, territorial local authorities and enterprise boards in the field of cultural wellbeing and community planning.

Projects involve running workshops and conducting research aimed at finding community outcomes in New Zealand in line with the New Zealand 2002 Local Government Act.

Internationally the outcomes are designed for creating sustainable cultural wellbeing for all communities, including those on the margins.

The consultancy also works with the community, particularly community organisations to encourage careful and consultative planning, including building professional documentation with a focus on outcome planning and cost centre budgeting.

The consultancy also works with organisations as they identify their social capital and resources, and then encourages them to use these resources to work towards sustainable development.

We know that organisations have a life cycle and the consultancy helps identify where the organisations are in that life cycle and how the organisation can plan to keep young and vibrant, while celebrating the maturity of its founders and older members.

Occasionally this support involves:

  1. capacity building for the groups
  2. fund raising
  3. writing marketing, strategic and business plans
  4. writing submissions and letters to government
  5. translating government language into English
  6. designing budgets that work for members, staff and the community.
